Possibile

Pushes a quality to the limit the player can reach

Possibile usually joins il più to form "as ... as possible": presto possibile, as fast as possible; il più forte possibile, as loud as possible; il più legato possibile, as smooth as possible. It points to a limit in one direction, not to a measurable value.

Such marks leave the judgement to player and instrument: "as possible" still assumes the music holds together and is not a licence for loss of control. A wind player's presto possibile is bounded by fingering and breath, a string player's by the bow, an ensemble's by the whole. It differs from più mosso, a comparative asking for more motion; possibile asks for the far end of what you can do.
