K. Anh. Number

The Mozart catalogue's appendix for doubtful and spurious works

K. Anh. numbers are the appendix (Anhang) of the Mozart catalogue: they hold doubtful, spurious and uncertainly attributed works. They are kept apart from the main numbers so that uncertainty does not enter the canon.

They differ from K. numbers: the main numbers mark confirmed Mozart works, the appendix marks doubt. The usual mistake is to treat K. Anh. as Mozart — it only says "once attributed to Mozart"; whether it is genuine depends on the entry and the research.
