The Richard Strauss catalogue number

OpusTrV Richard Strauss Works CatalogueJ. Number (Weber)

AV numbers catalogue Richard Strauss's works (Asow-Verzeichnis), compiled by Erich H. Mueller von Asow. Along with TrV numbers, they are the two common Strauss catalogues.

They differ from Op.: Strauss's opus numbers cover only part of his output, while AV/TrV are more complete. The usual mistake is to read AV as an opus — it is a catalogue number; one work may carry Op., AV and TrV numbers at once.
