Suzipu
A Song-era shorthand notation for song and ritual music
Related
Suzipu is a Song-era shorthand notation: a set of simplified signs for pitch, used with song, ritual music and ensemble music. It is earlier and simpler than gongche and an important source for Song music.
It differs from gongchepu: the signs are not identical and the era is earlier; it differs from jianzipu too: jianzipu is for the guqin. The usual mistake is to treat suzipu as another name for gongche — they are related but not the same notation.
