Repeat Sign
Two barlines with dots — play the enclosed passage again
Related
A repeat sign is two barlines with two dots (𝄆 … 𝄇): play the passage between the dots once more. Without an opening sign, repeat from the beginning; the end often pairs with first and second endings — take the first ending on the first pass, skip it and take the second on the repeat.
It differs from D.C. the repeat sign is a local loop, D.C. returns to the top of the piece. A repeat is not lazy duplication: the exposition of a Classical sonata is often repeated whole because the listener needs a second hearing to hold the themes; players may also change dynamics or ornament on the repeat.
