Deciso

Attack and rhythm must sound decided — not merely forceful

Deciso comes from the Italian decidere, "to decide"; Latin decidere joins de- ("off") and caedere ("to cut"), so the root sense is "cut off". Every attack and every rhythmic turn should be clear, unambiguous, without dragging.

It describes attitude, not speed, and not loudness. Deciso can be quiet as long as the onset is clean and the values are plainly told. The usual mistake is to play deciso as "hit harder" — decision is crispness after a clear judgement, not volume; too much force only makes the rhythm heavy-footed.
