Ben

The modifier "well, fully" — ben marcato means strongly marked

Ben ("well, fully") is an Italian modifier placed before another term to strengthen it: ben marcato is "strongly marked", ben tenuto "fully held". It does not by itself mark a tempo or a dynamic.

It differs from molto: molto is "very", ben is closer to "well, properly". The usual mistake is to read ben as a standalone dynamic — it is only an adverb; when you see ben, first see which word it modifies.
