Fuocoso
A fiery, impassioned mark with inner drive
Related
Fuocoso comes from fuoco, "fire". It asks for burning warmth and forward thrust, and is often interchangeable with con fuoco. Romantic music especially favours it, turning fast passages into flame.
The point is inner temperature, not volume. Fire can burn quietly: a soft fuocoso still needs rhythmic heat, while loudness and speed without accentual direction are only noise. It stands near appassionato and agitato, but appassionato is more lyrical, agitato more restless, and fuocoso more purely kinetic.
